Graeme Paton

Professor Graeme Paton was the Principal Investigator (and co-inventor) of the DRAM project funded by Scottish Enterprise. His main research focuses on the detection, fate and remediation of pollutants in terrestrial systems and he had published over 100 papers in peer reviewed journals. He has experience working with and training the highest quality graduates as well as delivering CPD courses for industry and government. He is a co-founder and Technical Director of the spin-out company Remedios and has used this experience in formulating the science and commercial aspects that underpin the opportunities of DRAM. His close proximity to the regulators and to the market enables a close view of the UK and European markets in which he has considerable experience.


Leigh Cassidy

Dr. Leigh Cassidy is the primary inventor of DRAM and developed this during a NERC Industrial studentship. The work was developed mainly for the facility at AWE Aldermaston where Leigh developed an interest in the measurement, toxicity, fate and remediation of chlorinated solvents. She is a strong technology champion and prior to coming to University as a mature student she has experience at a range of levels in retail and business. One of her greatest skills is communicating with clients and relating detailed technical responses to their needs and objectives.


Lynne Copland

I have extensive experience in Scientific sales with a particular focus on water related industries. I have worked in labs for 15years, training as an Electron Microscopist and Histologist at Aberdeen University before taking up a post with Robert Gordons University as a Biological Science Technician in their Pharmacy Department. Following a years research at Aberdeen University (Zoology Department) I accepted a post with Scottish Water supervising their Microbiology Lab.

I completed a BSc in Microbiology specialising in biotechnology and microbial ecology whilst working for SW and on completion embarked on a career in Scientific sales.

I have recently started a new course of study in which I aim to add an MSc to my qualifications. The focus of my research is "Biosurfactants & Microemulsions for enhanced oil recovery" Microbiology is my favourite topic but I also have a keen interest in nutritional therapy and am a qualified naturopathic nutritional therapist.

I am an experienced and proactive business development manager with a dedicated professional approach and a proven record of making significant contributions to business growth.

At present I act as business development manager for Scotland at Adroit Treatment Systems Ltd where I have full responsibility for developing new revenue streams while also optimizing income from existing lines. This has allowed me to further enhance my skills in negotiation and relationship management.
